SLA Literacy FOR TEACHERS:Promoting SLA Literacy in the Classroom Language vs. Learning:
When working with ELL students, it is sometime hard to determine the difference between a learning difficulty and a language difficulty. A learning difficulty is not grasping academic concepts. A language difficulty is simply a students does not understand the language, which causes them not to learn the concepts. A child may know academic concepts, but they do not produce to work because they don't understand the terms or the directions. If a students begins to develop L2 and thier work progress, then the problem is a language difficulty. If a students has learned L2 is not showing progress in work, then there could be a learning difficulty.
